Safeguarding at The Priory Churches
At The Priory Churches, safeguarding is at the heart of all we do. We are committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and caring environment for everyone, especially children, young people, and adults at risk.
We follow the House of Bishops’ guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer. Safeguarding is a standing item at our PCC meetings, and all clergy and volunteers must complete training appropriate to their roles.
Our Safeguarding Officer is Emma Glue, and our incumbent, Rev Canon Derek Welsman, is also trained in safeguarding and available to offer support.
If you have any concerns about your own safety or someone else’s, please speak to Emma or Derek. You will be listened to with care, and your concern will be taken seriously.
Together, we aim to ensure that The Priory Churches are places of trust, kindness, and safety for all.
